The Giant Way
At Griffith, we are dedicated to fostering an environment where all students learn and thrive. Central to this commitment is our focus on teaching the Giant Rules by location. Our staff takes pride in ensuring that students understand these rules through consistent practice, reteaching, and reinforcement. One of the key tools we use for this reinforcement is the G Buck system.
The G Buck System
Students earn G Bucks as a recognition of their adherence to the Giant Way. These G Bucks can be redeemed for various rewards, including prizes, privileges, and celebrations. The G Buck system is designed to remind students that they know the Giant Way and are on the right track, promoting positive behavior and reinforcing the values we strive to instill.
Holistic Education
Just as we are committed to teaching academic subjects like reading, writing, math, science, and social studies, our staff is equally dedicated to teaching students the importance of being Safe, Respectful, and Responsible. We employ an accountability system and adhere to the Balsz Code of Conduct to support students in meeting these expectations.
Teaching Strategies
Our staff is trained in the Griffith Common Pictures and the Balsz adaptation of Teach Like a Champion strategies. One of our key practices is the "Threshold" strategy, where staff welcome students at doorways with a warm greeting. This practice helps ensure a strong start to each class, setting a positive tone for the day.
At Griffith, we are committed to creating a supportive and enriching environment for all students, guided by the principles of safety, respect, and responsibility. Through the combined efforts of our dedicated staff and our innovative teaching strategies, we strive to help every student succeed.
